A workshop has been held in Bogura to formulate an integrated action plan to build a social movement to prevent drug abuse. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Masum Ali Beg presided over the workshop organized by the District Narcotics Control Department at 10 am on Thursday at the Mum Inn Hotel auditorium in the city.
Bogura Deputy Commissioner Ziaul Haque spoke as the chief guest. Bogura District Council Administrator Dr Maqbool Hossain, Superintendent of Police Sudip Kumar Chakraborty spoke as special guests. Fazlur Rahman, Additional Director, Rajshahi Divisional Office, Department of Narcotics Control, presented the keynote address at the workshop. Mamunur Rashid, Deputy Director, Local Government Department, Dr Mohammad Safiul Azam, Civil Surgeon, Bogura and Afroza Akter Riba, Senior Assistant Secretary, Department of Security Services, Ministry of Home Affairs spoke on the occasion. Welcoming remarks were made by Raziur Rahman, Deputy Director, Department of Narcotics Control, Bogura.
The workshop was attended by all the Upazila Executive Officers of the district, Upazila Chairman, Municipal Mayor, OC of the police station, officials of the district government department.
The speakers said that there is no alternative to increase public awareness to prevent the spread of drugs.
