Workshop held on using modern fishing tech

A workshop was held at Hatia upazila in Noakhali on the use of modern technology in deep sea fishing on Wednesday morning.

More than a hundred fishermen and trawler owners took part in it at Suryamukhi Ghat in Burirchar Union under the upazila.

The workshop was organized by a non-governmental organization called Celestial Tech Limited. It taught people how to fish safely in the sea using various advanced technologies.

It also taught them how to determine the depth of the water in the ocean, how to know one's position in the deep sea or to communicate with the rescue ship in case of disaster and how to see the presence of fish in the water using advanced instruments.

The workshop was chaired by Imam Uddin Rimon, UP Member of Ward 3 under Burirchar Union. Khandaker Ilias Kanchan, GM of Celestial Tech Limited, Nurul Karim Ratan, President of Hatia Upazila Fishermen's Association, Haji Nur Islam, Fisherman, and Haji Mosul Hossain, UP Engineer spoke at the time among others.
