Speaking at the nomination paper distribution programme, Rashed Khan Menon said, "We have to treat the upcoming 12th Jatiya Sangsad election as the current challenge to protect the country's democracy and constitution".

Noting that BNP-Jamaat is on the verge of losing everything by staging demonstrations on the prescription of the USA, he said there is still the time. If they want to participate in the democratic process of the country, they should unconditionally take part in the elections, he added.

Menon urged all the democratic political parties and people of the country to proceed with the 12 JS elections in a fair manner.
