Worker electrocuted in Satkhira

A worker named Habibur Rahman Bhutto (38) died while working on an electric line in Satkhira. The incident took place in front of Katia (Staff Quarters) in Satkhira town around 9 am on Monday (February 8).

The deceased was identified as Habibur Rahman, son of Quddus Ali of Dattar Battala village under Damodarpur-3 in Sadullahpur upazila of Gaibandha district.

Witnesses said that the deceased Habibur Rahman Bhutto was working as a laborer for a contractor to install electricity poles in Satkhira. On Monday (February 8) morning, he asked the Satkhira power office to shut down the line to work on the cut feed. Although they cut off the feed line, Habibur mistakenly climbed into the feed of Textiles Mills, which was running on electricity, as he had two feeders on his side, and died after being struck by a 33,000 kV voltage line.

Officer-in-charge of Satkhira Sadar Police Station Asaduzzaman confirmed the death of Habibur Rahman Bhutto.
