Works of 367 Test Reliefs at a cost of Tk 26.98 million and 77 Food for Work programmes at a cost of Tk 19.92 million in eight unions and a municipality under Kurigram sadar upazila has been completed successfully.
The works include repairing of rural roads, reconstruction of religious institutions, mosques, temples, school, colleges, madrasha, orphanages, guide walls, culverts, public toilets and grave yard. The project areas are at Pachgachhi, Jatrapur, Ghogadaha, Bhogdanga, Holokhanam Belgachha and Kanthalbari unions.
Ershadul Haque, former member of Jatrapur union informed rural people are being benefitted during the rainy season as the works under FFW have been completed successfully.
Abdul Hye Master of Bhogdanga union informed a huge repair and renovation works has been done in educational institutions of the areas through TR projects.
Nabab Ali of Halokhana union informed there was no iregularities in the implementation of TR and FFW programmes this year. As a result the quality of the works is excellent.
Aman Uddin Ahmed Monjur, Chairman of Kurigram sadar upazila informed all the project works have been implemented successfully keeping in mind the declaration o the Prime Minister that' Villages will turn into towns".
Alhaj Panir Uddin Ahmed, Member of Parliament of Kurigram-2 said all project works have been completed successfully signifying the development of lifestyle of rural people. People of the project areas are already reaping the benefits of the implemented projects.
