Women U-16 take on Nepal today

Bangladesh U-16 women football will take on hosts Nepal U-16 in the four nation SAFF U-16 Women Championship at 3:00p.m. at Chyasal Stadium, Lalitpur Nepal on Saturday. 

Meanwhile, the team head coach Saiful Bari Titu said his girls are trying to adapt to the environment before their first match against Nepal. of the SAFF U-16 Women's Championship. The girls also made their second day training session on Thursday at ANFA Complex in Kathmandu, according to a message received on Friday. 

The coach said he is quite satisfied for the effort as the way the girls are trying to adapt.

Most of the players of the team are unfamiliar of the venue and it's good for them to get to know ground before the first match, he added.

Asked about his plan with the first match against Nepal, Titu said there is nothing to know about Nepal rather the girls are only focusing on their own plan.

Titu admitted that the home side will obviously get the support from the crowds, but his girls are prepared to take the challenge. 

Earlier, on Wednesday last Bangladesh reached Nepal to participate in the four-nation SAFF U-16 Championship which will be held from March 1-10 in Nepal.

Bangladesh won the title of the SAFF Championship in 2017, will start their tournament campaign taking on Nepal on March 2 before facing India on March 5. 

The girls in red and green will play their ultimate match against Bhutan on March 8 before the title-deciding final match scheduled to be held on March 10.

Bangladesh clinched the title seven years ago at Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium, Kamalapur in 2017 beating India by 1-0 in the final outing.

Bangladesh lost to Nepal by tie breaker two years ago in 2022. The match was 1-1 draw in the regulation time.
