Women’s Football League to begin in December

The sixth season of the Women's Football League will commence in December. However, the time schedule and the fixtures are not yet finalized after the announcement on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) announced that the foreign booterscould participate in the upcoming league. Therefore, the participating teams can register foreign players to play for their teams.

The Federation thinks that if foreign players join the league, it will be more competitive. Two foreign players can take part in a match, as per the decision taken by the highest body of the federation. Though the Women Football League is not professional until now, it is amateur. The registration of the foreign players will follow the amateur process.

The clubs that wish to participate in the league must obtain a license from the BFF by November 15. Clubs have to pay Taka 20 lakhs to BFF by pay order. The clubs must follow the rules of the league. Their BFF will return the money.

A total of 12 teams took part in the 2021–22 Women’s Football League. The clubs are: ARB College Sporting Club, Bashundhara Kings, Barishal Football Academy, Cumilla United, Dhaka Rangers FC, Farashganj FC, FC Brahmanbaria, JamalpurKachariparaAkadas, Nasrin Sporting Club, SirajSritySongsod, SuddopushkoriniJubo SC, and Uttara FC.

Bashundhara Kings clinched the title in 2021–2022, and the team became champions three times in a row. BFF has confirmed these teams will contest the league.

Bashundhara Kings are a very strong team, and they are capable of winning the league for the fourth time.

All matches will be played at the BirSherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium, Kamalapur.
