Women’s first class cricket league BCL launched in Bangladesh from Thursday with three teams are taking part in the inaugural occasion of the first ever of its kind at the Sheikh Abu Naser (SANS) Stadium, Khulna.
Bangladesh Women Cricket, though had the Test status two years back but yet to play any match of Women’s Test cricket lack of experiences of playing first class cricket.
However, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) organised the two-day women’s first class tournament, BCL for women from this year whenwomen’s wing chairman ShafiulAlam Chowdhury Nadel inauguratedthe first edition was inaugurated at the SANS, Khulna on Thursday.
Three teams of the women’s BCL are Padma, Meghna and Jamuna.
Team Padma and Jamuna are playing the first match of the inaugural edition of the tournament.
Meghna and Jamuna will play the second match on April 3 and 4 at the same venue when the third match will take place between Padma and Meghna on April 7 and 8.
Meanwhile, BCB women's wing chairman ShafiulAlam Chowdhury Nadel inaugurated the Women’s BCL (1st Edition), the first ever two-day domestic tournament for women in Bangladesh at the (SANS) in Khulna.
Team Padma: RubiaHayderjhilik, SharminShultana, Salma Khatun, Ritu Moni, SuraiyaAjmin, Sathi Rani, SharifaKhatun, Unnuti Akhter, Disha Biswas, FahimaKhatun, Falguni Chowdhury Bonna, Rya Akhter Shikha, JannatuMahua and ShubornaKormakar.
Team Meghna: ShamimaShultana, Shar Akhter Shupta, IshmaTanjim, Sumaiya Akhter, Fariha Islam Trisna, DipaKhatun, Nahida Akhter, NazmunNahar Runa, Khadijatul Kubra, Rabeya, Lota Mondal, Puja Chakrabory, Mishti Rani Shaha and Lekmi Chakma.
Team Jamuna: MurshidaKhatun, FarzanaHaque Pinky, Shorna Akhter, SanjidaAkhetrMeghla, Marufa Akhter, SobhanaMustari, Shanu Akhter, Farzana Akhter Lisa, Iva, Nishita Akhter, AfiaHumaiyaAnamProttasha, Ashrafi Yasmin Arthi, Sultana Khatun and JuairayaFerdousJoyoti.
