Once, Lucky was a helpless woman when her husband had died. Finding no other alternative she left the country for livelihood and served for three years in Lebanon as a house maid. Serving for three years the woman started home delivery services there with her limited investment. But the path was not easy. Ambia Khatun Lucky incurred a loss for Taka one and a half lakh there and finally returned home in 2016.

Of them 27 has been providing milk for 200 litres a day. Abide the cow nursing he had established a mini local goat farm, local chicken farm and preparing cheese from the produced milk. To feed her cows, the workaholic woman has been producing green grass on seven bighas of land and maize for both grass and granules on another three bighas.

The ad-flaming woman has started construction of a seven-storied super market with the assistance of her brother at Narayanpur Trimohini on Jhenaidah- Chuadanga highway. In the meantime she had completed the work of three storied with 150 rooms. Now she earns Taka 1.5 lakh a month from the rent. Lucky said her way was not at all easy in the male dominated society. She had to overcome the opposite wave and put step cautiously. As she has been talking for the women community, locals have elected her as their union parishad reserve women seat member of Saganna union parishad in 2021. The department of livestock had formed a dairy producers’ group (PG) society in the village with 27 dairy farm owners who have been producing 500 litres of milk a day. The quantity of milk produced in Lucky’s farm was about 200 litres. The PG was formed to make members aware on their rights, use modern technology for production, treatment in locality, safe fodder production, marketing and financial management. They also aimed to make the milk producers and cattle rearing persons self reliant.

But they have been deprived off fair prices for the daily produced milk. Local sweetmeat producers locally known as Ghosh have been paying Taka 45 to 50 for each kilogram, while the same was selling at Taka 70-80 in the district town.

The members of local milk and dairy producers’ group (PG) society raised their voice when Jhenaidah deputy commissioner (DC) Manira Begum had encouraging them for their successful journey in milk and cheese production as well as cow rearing.
