‘Women are now wandering in every sector’

Hi-Tech Park Authority provides ICT-related training to over 2,000 women

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, MP, has said that Bangladesh has made a strong position under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. “The women have move forward with the prudent decision and planning of the Prime Minister. Women are now wandering in every sector. We welcome to hi tech park to build up women empowerment and robust women leadership,” he added. 

He said these while speaking as the chief guest at a certificate distribution ceremony at a hotel in Gulshan in the capital on Thursday. Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority distributed certificates for the session on the role of women in e-commerce industry and the ICT training course for women trainees on the occasion of the International Women's Day. 

 NM Zeaul Alam, Senior Secretary of Information and Communication Technology Division, was present as a special guest at the event. Sultana Afroz, Secretary and CEO, Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) of Prime Minister's Office, was present as guest of honour. Sangita Ahmed, Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was also present at the event. 

Hosne Ara Begum, Managing Director (Secretary) Office Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, presided over the event. ANM Safiqul Islam (Joint Secretary), Director (Finance and Administration) of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority and Shomi Kaiser, President, e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) and Managing Director, Dhansiri Communication Limited jointly conducted the event. 

Shomi Kaiser said that there is a huge revolution going on during the period of Covid-19. With the leadership of the dreamer of digital Bangladesh Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the e-commerce is moving forward with a new infrastructure. The contribution of e-commerce in economy has reached to 60 to 70 percent, as the digital transactions have increased. Womens' have sustained themselves in this adverse situation. To prepare women for fourth industrial revolution is our next step, she added.  

More than two thousand women trainees have completed ICT-related training courses conducted by the supervision and financial assistance of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority. These training courses will play a regulatory role in providing the necessary manpower to build a digital Bangladesh.

Intending to provide well-trained women entrepreneurs and develop them into self-reliant and professional manpower, the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority has taken this timely initiative. These training courses are conducted through various training institutes comprising Dhansiri Communication Limited. Certificates will be distributed among the trainees at the event.
