A woman was killed as a motorcycle hit her in front of Jibannagar Upazila Health Complex in Chuadanga on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Sobe Khatun, 51, husband of Sabed Ali, resident of Abdulbaria area of the upazila.
Quoting locals, Abdulbaria UP Chairman Sheikh Shafiqul Islam Mokter said, “Sobe Khatun was hit by a rashly driven motorcycle while she was going to the upazila health complex at 10:30am, leaving her dead on the spot.”
The agitated locals seized the motorcycle but the motorcyclist managed to flee the scene, locals said.
Officer-in-Charge of Jibannagar Police Station, M Abdul Khaleque, said, “We haven’t received any complaint yet. We will act accordingly after receiving complaint.”
