A woman was run over by a truck in Hathazari upazila of Chattogram on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Marium Begum, 50, wife of Mohammad Miah of Mardasha Rahmatghona area of the upazila.
The accident took place around 11:00am on Chattogram-Rangamati highway.
The deceased’s nephew Abu Reza said ‘a truck ran over Marium Begum while she was crossing the road, leaving her dead on the spot’.
The truck was seized but the driver managed to flee the scene.
Mohammad Mozammel Haque, officer-in-charge of Gohira Highway Police Station, confirmed the matter.
