Hanging body of a woman was recovered from a house at Maniknagar area of Mugda in the capital on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Sabrina Helal Shammi, 28, daughter of late Shah Helal Uddin of Domkandi village of Sariakandi Upazila in Bogra.
Later, she was rescued unconscious and taken to Mugda Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.
Mugda Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Angura Akhtar Seema said, being informed, we recovered her body from the emergency department of Mugda Hospital around 6:30 am. After the legal process, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Quoting relatives, the SI said that Shammi hanged herself with a ceiling fan in her room over a family feud.
Later, she was rescued and taken to Mugda Hospital where doctor declared her dead. We are trying to find out the reason why she hanged herself. The exact cause of death will be known after receiving the post-mortem report.
