Woman dies in Manikganj, house locked down

Family members of a housewife at Manikganj have been kept under ‘lockdown’ following the death of her with the symptom of coronavirus on Sunday morning. 

The deceased housewife was identified as Suchitra Sarker, 26, wife of Nitail Sarker of village Boroichhara under Harirampur upazila of the district. The attending doctors declared her dead when she was taken to Munnu Medical College Hospital at Manikganj sadar upazila around 9-30 am on Sunday.

SM Moniruzzman, Deputy Director of the hospital informed, Suchita was taken to the hospital while she was already dead. Quoting family members of the deceased, Moniruzzaman informed, Suchintra had been suffering from fever, cough, breathing problem from last seven-day and diarrhoea for last two-day. 

He further said, one week ago, his father in law died and during his funeral rites, a large number of people gathered at their house and she might be affected with the disease from someone of them.  

Dr. Anowarul Amin Akand, Civil Surgeon of Manikganj infomed, the samples of blood and saliva have already been collected from the deceased person and that would be sent to Dhaka for testing in Dhaka to confirm whether the deceased was attacked with coronavirus. 

SM Ferdous, Deputy Commissioner of Manikganj informed, close neigbours and relatives of the deceased person have been ordered to put under home quarantine until further order.
