A woman died after her scarf got entangled in the wheels of a shallow-engine run autorickshaw at Tungipara upazila in Gopalganj on Tuesday.
The incident took place in the afternoon on Gopalganj-Tungipara Highway at Malek Bazar area of the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Hena Akter, 45, was wife of Chunnu Sheikh, and a resident of Panchkahania area in Tungipara upazila sadar.
According to the family members, Hena was on the way to her daughter's house at nearby Khalekbazar area riding on a shallow-engine run three-wheeler (nosimon). On the way, when she reached at Bottala area, she fell from the three-wheeler when her scarf got entangled in its wheel and was critically injured.
Locals rescued her and took to Gopalganj General Hospital where the physicians declared her dead.
Dr Manjurul Kabir, on-duty doctor of the hospital, confirmed the death adding that Hena died before she was brought to the hospital.
