A middle-aged woman died after being run over by a train at Ghoramara Railgate in Uthli village of Chuadanga’s Jibannagar upazila on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Safura Khatun, 50, wife of Idbar Ali of Majher para of Uthli village.
The woman was run over by Intercity Rupsa Express train that left Khulna at around 9:30 am.
According to witnesses, she was taking her sheep to a field for grazing. At that time, she was hit by the train, while crossing the Uthli Ghoramara railgate and she died on the spot. Jibannagar police station Officer-in-Charge Md. Saiful Islam confirmed the matter.
