Police recovered the hanging bodies of a woman and her daughter from their house in Jamirdiya Masterbari area under Bhaluka upazila in Mymensingh on Tuesday morning.
The deceased are Synthia Akter, 24, and her three and a half year old daughter.
Synthia used to live with her husband Jahid Hossain, a readymade garment worker, and the daughter at a rented house in the area.
Quoting locals, Bhaluka Model Police Station officer-in-charge Kamal Hossain said that Synthia and her daughter didn’t come out of their house on Tuesday morning.
Getting no response from the house despite repeated calls, locals informed police at about 10:00am, he said.
Later, they recovered the bodies hanging from the ceiling fan with a rope, the OC said, adding the bodies were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The police officer said that Synthia’s husband Jahid was not at the house on Monday night and he was on the run.
