An elderly woman who suffered burns while basking in fire died at the General Hospital in Jashore on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Shukurunnesa, 60, wife of late Samsuddin of Raypara area in the district town.
Locals said that Shukurunnesa caught fire when she was warming herself by a fire on December 30, leaving her critically injured.
She was taken to hospital in that time and she was undergoing treatment. She succumbed to her injuries after six days.
