Woman body recovered from haor

The body of a woman (65) who went missing in a boat that capsized in Mithamoin of Kishoreganj has been recovered. Her body was recovered from a haor in Sadhurbandh area adjacent to Sharifpur village in Gopdighi union of Mithamin upazila around 5:30 am on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Saleha Akter, wife of Sultan Miah of Maliund Barbari village in Ghagra union of Mithamoin.

According to local sources, Saleha Akhter had been suffering from various ailments for a long time. Relatives treated her in Kishoreganj and let her go home on Friday.

Eight people, including Saleha Akhter, rented a small motor boat from Chamtaghat in Karimganj upazila to go home to Maliund village in Ghagra. Saleha Akhter was the only woman among the 


On the way, the boat sank in the wind at Sadhurbandh area near Sharifpur village in Gopdighi union of Mithamin upazila around 8:30 pm. 

At that time, other passengers of the boat swam to shore, some got into the fishing boat near the spot and escaped, but Saleha Akhter went missing. After searching all night, no trace of her was found.
