Who will be the best hero-heroine of 2019? Who will be recognized as the best director? All the questions were finally answered. According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Information, the National Film Awards for 2019 have been given in a total of 26 categories.
The films 'No Dorai' and 'Fagun Haway' have won double awards for the best film. Tanim Rahman Anshu is going to get the National Film Award for Best Director for 'No Dorai' movie. Tariq Anam Khan won Best Actor award for Abar Boshonto while Sunerah Binte Kamal was adjudged as Best Actress for her performance in 'No Dorai'.
Fazlur Rahman Babu will win the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. He is getting an award for his performance in 'Fagun Haway' directed by Taukir Ahmed. Nargis Akhtar won the award Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role in 'Maya the Lost Mother'. For the second time in his career, actor Zahid Hasan has won the National Film Award for his role as Khol. He is getting Best Khol Actor Award for his role as Khol in the movie 'Shapludu'. Last year, the actor won the award in the same category for his 2017 film 'Halda'.
Meanwhile, film director Masood Pathik showed surprise. This year, his film 'Maya - The Lost Mother' won the National Film Award in the top eight categories. The movie 'No Dorai' produced by Star Cineplex is getting awards in six categories. Impress Telefilm's 'Fagun Haway' and Desh Bangla Multimedia's 'Moner Moto Manush Pailam Na' are getting three awards each.
This time Emon Chowdhury as the best music director, Mrinal Kanti Das as the best singer, Mamtaz Begum and Fatima Tuz Zahra as the best singer are getting the divine award. Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and Nirmalendu Guna have also been selected.
Actor-producer-director Masood Parvez (Sohail Rana) and actress-producer-Kohinoor Akhter Suchanda will receive lifetime achievement awards at the National Film Awards 2019. Soon, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the awards to the winners.
