Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh attained massive development in the field of economy in the last one decade, they said.

Their appreciation came when a seven-member delegation of WIEF and SEACO Foundation, led by WIEF Secretary General Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Ganabhaban, her official residence, in the capital yesterday afternoon.

PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters after the meeting.

The WIEF secretary general invited Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to join the next WIEF Conference to be held in Qatar in 2020. He proposed Bangladesh host the WIEF Conference in 2021.

The Prime Minister said the government is now setting up 100 economic zones across the country for further industrialization and job creation.

Sheikh Hasina said lands in the economic zones are now being allocated to the foreign investors alongside the local entrepreneurs. PM’s International Affairs Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi and PM’s Principal Secretary Md Nojibur Rahman were present.
