With the slogan “Let’s build a green Bangladesh through planned afforestation”, the Tree Plantation Campaign and Tree Fair 2025 began in Bhola on Monday.
The day commenced with a vibrant rally at 10 a.m., led by the Deputy Commissioner of Bhola, Md Azad Jahan. The rally started from the DC office premises and paraded through key roads of the town, ending at the fair venue.
The week-long fair was inaugurated at Bhola Government School field, where the DC officially opened the event by cutting a ribbon and releasing balloons.
Participants included students from various schools, nursery owners, and officials from the district administration and forest department. The opening discussion session was chaired by Divisional Forest Officer Md Ariful Haque Belal. In his speech, the DC emphasised, “To build a beautiful world, we need a healthy environment, and for that, forests are indispensable. We must plant more trees for the sake of future generations.”
Special guests included Superintendent of Police Md Shariful Haque and Nursery Owners’ Association President Md Abul Kashem. The event concluded with a stall visit by the forest officials, who expressed their satisfaction with the fair.
