Weather likely to remain dry

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Wednesday predicted mainly dry weather over the country along with rain or thunder showers at some places in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am, reports BSS.

“Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country”, said a Met office bulletin issued here this morning.

The day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it added. The bulletin also predicted the night temperature may fall gradually in the next 72 hours. The highest temperature in the country on Tuesday was recorded 35.2 degrees Celsius in Sylhet while today’s minimum temperature was 20.2 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur district. The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours until 6am on Wednesday was recorded 57 millimeters (mm) at Rangamati under Chattogram division. The sun sets at 5:32 pm yesterday and rises at 5:56 am on Thursday in the capital.
