Weapons to be procured not from any particular country

General Aziz Ahmed, Chief of Army Staff, at a press conference held at Kadirabad Cantonment in Natore of Tuesday noon said that not from any particular country but sophisticated, modern weapons will be procured from the countries where those are available to make the armed forces powerful and strong.

The Chief of Army was answering questions of the journalists aftermath of the functions of Regimental Colours of the four units of Engineering Corps at Kadirabad Cantonment.

He said, aiming at realisation of the Vision-2030, missiles will be procured to make the armed forces further strong and powerful. Accordingly, the works of modernisation of the armed forces is going on, he mentioned.

Earlier, the Armed Forces Chief visited the parade at the parade ground of the cantonment and received salutes from the contingents of four units of engineering corps. Later on, he delivered a lecture aiming the armed forces members.

The Armed Forces Chief put emphasis on basis soldiering to face all sort of possible situations in a future battle field. The function was attended, among others, by Shahidul Islam Bokul, Member of Parliament, Major General Saiful Alam, Area Commander of Bogura area, Brigadier General Ashraful Islam, Commandant of Kadirabad Cantonment, A.K.M. Hafiz Akhter, DIG( police), Rajshahi range and high ups from among army, police, RAB and the civilians.
