Police recovered five firearms and 72 round of bullets at Sirajsingha village’s cemetery in sadar upazila of Jashore on friday.They also arrested Abdul Haque Gazi, 70, and his son Abdul Halim Gazi,45, on charges of possessing these weapons.The detainees are resident of Sirajsingha village under Sadar upazila.
Additional Superintendent of Police at Jashore Sadar Circle Gulam Rabbani told that on secret information, police could find out that Abdul Haque Gazi and his son Halim Ghazi of Sirajsingha village had stored weapons. Police went there and arrested alleged arms trader Abdul Haque and his son Halim from the house. According to their information, a nine mm pistol, a 7.65 bore pistol, one-shutter gang, two pipeguns and 72 round of bullets were recovered in a cemetery. A case was filed in Jashore Kotwali Model thana in this connection.
