We would have preferred to see Neymar at Barca: Tite

Brazil coach Tite suggested as much during the Copa America. "I would go to a place where I felt happily, personally and will my family, because if I am happy, I'm going to be better professionally," he said when asked about Neymar's future, ESPN reports.

Obviously the CBF didn't position themselves in the transfer tug-of-war between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. They don't in any cases, but especially in this one with Marquinhos and Thiago Silva (not to mention sporting director Leonardo, a World Cup winner in 1994) all Brazilians at PSG.  At the Confederation's HQ in Rio de Janeiro, no one wanted to relive the controversy with PSG from March of 2018, a few months before the World Cup. Neymar decided to treat an injury with the Brazil medical staff, namely Rodrigo Lasmar. The decision didn't go down well with PSG and fractured their relationship with Brazil.

It's an open secret, though, that they would have preferred Neymar to close his chapter in Paris, where he's not playing at the same intensity, and return to Barcelona, where he spent the best years of his career to date, with a nod to Santos.

What's more, during the last two months, since Ney returned to Paris, he has received calls from people at the Confederation, checking in on his mood, wishing him well and hoping he could complete his move to Camp Nou.  His call up to the Brazil squad for these upcoming games -- when he's not played a single game for PSG this season -- shows how good his relationship is with the national team and the Confederation.

In Brazil, they feel that keeping Neymar, angry and upset in Paris, in his current situation goes against their interests, with World Cup qualifiers coming up and another Copa America next summer.
