‘We committed to turning Ctg into a city of harmony’

Administrator of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Md Tofail Islam said CCC is taking preparations to celebrate the Sharodiya Durga Puja with due religious respect and in a peaceful, orderly and harmonious environment.

He said we are committed to make Chattogram a city of harmony with your overall cooperation during the Sharodiya Durga Puja.

The CCC Administrator came up with the assertion while speaking as the chief guest in a view-exchange meeting with the presidents and general secretaries of Puja Udjapon Parishads of 16 Thanas and the representatives of various organisations. The meeting was held at the Nagar Bhaban conference room in Chattogram on Monday.

CCC Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Mohammad Tauhidul Islam, Secretary Mohammad Ashraful Amin, Chief Revenue Officer Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Chief Education Officer Muhammad Saiful Islam, Executive Magistrate Chaiti Sarbabidya, Special Magistrate Monisha Mohajan, Regional Executive Officers Md Rezaul Karim, Shahriar Ferdousi, Raktim Chowdhury, metropolitan Puja Udjapon Parishad president Lion Ashish Bhattyacharja, general secretary Hillol Sen Ujjal, Assistant Police Commissioner (Traffic) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police Md Delwar Hossain, Chattogram Power Development Board Deputy-Divisional Engineer Sayed Iqbal Parvez, Chattogram City Corporation Puja Udjapon Parishad president Ashutosh Dey and general secretary Biplob Kumar Chowdhuy were present at that time.

 Md Tofail Islam said Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. CCC will continue its efforts to maintain this harmony. Just like the previous years, all type of preparations is being made to clean Puja Mandaps, arrange illumination, safe drinking water and provide security to celebrate the Sharodiya Durga Puja peacefully.

He urged the organisers to stay aware to maintain peace and order for the benefit of the devotees and priest (Pujaris) while the Puja will be performed in the mandaps.
