‘We Act For Kids Foundation Bangladesh’ celebrates 50 years of BD-France friendship

‘We Act For Kids Foundation Bangladesh’ on Saturday arranged a cultural show at Mirpur in the capital to celebrate the 50 years of friendship between Bangladesh and France. 

Guilaume Audren de Kerdrel, Charge d’affaires and acting Ambassador of France in Bangladesh attended the event. 

He said, “It is a noble initiative taken by a French Foundation for the marginalised children in Bangladesh. I and my country are committed to supporting those people in need. We are happy to celebrate 50 years of France-Bangladesh friendship.”

‘We Act For Kids Foundation Bangladesh’ is a France-based foundation that is running different social projects for the slum children in Mirpur. Besides, it also provides educational support including sports, arts & drawing, dance and music education.

School children from Mirpur slums performed in a concert organised by Alliance Francaise Chittagong at French Embassy in Dhaka. The children were from the ‘We Act For Kids Foundation’-funded slum schools. This foundation is providing educational support to 1500 students in Mirpur slums.

AshimTroster, Ambassador of Germany in Bangladesh was also present at the event and enjoyed the musical and dance show performed by slum children.

Also the Director of Alliance Francaise Chittagong Dr Selvam Thorez, the Director General of We Act For Kids Foundation CécileDelivre, the Deputy Director of Foundation Pierre Arlaud, Bangladesh Country Coordinator of We Act For Kids Foundation Md Wahidul Haque and other delegates from France and German Embassies were present there and encouraged the children for their future success.
