Batters’ performances in the warm match are very much alarming ahead of starting the Test series against West Indies at their soil.
Tigers, who are playing the only warm match, on the second day of the three-day encounter against the President X1, their first innings scoreboard show a comfortable total 310 runs, which might be a consolation but not the real picture of the batters’ performances.
The overall performances of the batters are very much frightening, as apart from Tamim Iqbal and Nazmul Hossain Shanto, the top orders or middle orders none of the batters could authenticate of getting back their confidence.
Riding on an elegant 162 runs (unbeaten) from Tamim Iqbal and a fifty (54) from Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh could shape a good looking total of 310 runs while Tamim’s opening partner Mahmudul Hassan Joy, Mominul Haque, Liton Das at the top and Yasir Ali, Nurul Hassan Shohan at middle, all displayed very poor show.
In the three-day match Bangladesh were leading by 109 runs on second day when the opponents President X1 scored 201 runs in 66 overs for four wickets, so far for the bowlers it was not also any enthusiastic or encouraging performances that could be very steadfast for the upcoming Test.
It is very much remarkable that Bangladesh top orders bats even sometimes the middle orders, who usually play the key roles to draft a noticeable total, can’t expose with their real characters or some of them are not steady for a long.
The performances of the batters looked almost at their reappearance, as they were against Sri Lanka at home ground when Mahmudul Hassan Joy and Mominul Haque, both of them got out for duck and Liton Das was out for seven.
Specially, when it looks that Mahmudul Hassan Joy and Mominul Haque are struggling, that is obviously a cautionary signal for the batting line, if in absence of Mushfiqur Rahim, in-form Liton Das, Mosaddek Hossain orYasir Ali Rabbi could not shine, trouble will be enflamed.
It will not always happen or is not certain that Tamim, Shakib or Liton Das will shine to salvage the team or carry on their talents to win matches. All the batters, specially, the top orders have to be consistent to play the key role and overall contribution is also important when bowlers would have shine in time.
On the otherhands, bowlers could not also do something positive when the West Indian batters socred 201 playing only 66 overs, though they lost four wickets but it was not anything optimistic that they could appear with extraordinary performances.
West Indies are obviously in very comfortable mood as they won three-match Test series against England with drawing the first two and defeated the English in the last Test by 10 wickets on March 24.
The series win is a huge boost up for the West Indies when for Bangladesh it would be something worriedness, as the batters are struggling to get rid of their in instability.
