Israfil Alam, Member of Parliament of Naogaon-6 constituency distributed warm clothes among helpless street and slum dwellers of the Raniagar and Atrain upazilas of Naogaon on Friday night.
It is learnt Lawmaker Israfil Alam distributed some 20,000 blankets at his constituency from his own fund. On Friday night, he formally inaugurated the blanket distribution function arranged by Israfil Alam Welfare Foundation. He also distributed those blankets at Kashimpur Khamar Bari at the same time. The blankets were distributed among the members of 15 orphanages, welfare organisations and street urchins and slum dwellers. The blanked distribution function was attended, among others, by Raniagar upazila Vice-President of Awami League Anowar Hossain, Parvez Hossain and Heads of all orphanages and madrashas.
Israfil Alam said, his main duty was to work for the betterment of the people of society. According to the directives of the Prime Minister, many Members of Parliament like him were distributing warm clothes for the winter hit people from his own fund, in addition to the government allocation.
