State Minister for Religious Affairs Alhaj Advocate Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah has said that conspirators and killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman are still now active against the country. They are still hatching conspiracy against the country. The patristic people, freedom fighters and their offspring must be united as the war is still now going on against the conspirators and the anti-liberation forces, he added.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a condolence meeting at the National Press Club in the capital on Saturday. ‘Dhaka Prabashi Muktijoddha Kallyan o Punorbason Samity’ arranged the meeting to mark the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Sheikh Abdullah said, “People of the country believe that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has achieved popularity so that the conspirators will not able to defeat her government by democratic way. So, they are spreading different types of rumors like ‘head is needed in Padma Bridge’. But, they failed in this way.”
He also said, “After failing to defeat Sheikh Hasina, the conspirators can try to hatch such a conspiracy which had been hatched against Bnagabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”
Remembering the memory of Bangabandhu, the state minister said, “Before August 15, 1971, some people told Bangabandhu that conspirators were active against him. But Bangabandhu told them that he loves the Bangali people and he doesn’t believe that the people cannot do such type of conspiracy.”
He urged all the freedom fighters and their progeny to become aware of conspiracy.
In his speech, Editor-in-Chief of Bangladesh Post Sharif Shahab Uddin said, “Freedom fighters are the illustrated sons of our nation. The conspirators are still now active and the war is still going on against them. I believe that this war will be end within 10 years.”
He also said, “After brutal killing of Bangabandhu, many people cannot utter his name in fear. The country is going ahead and became a role model of development under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”
Valiant freedom fighter and Adviser to USA Awami League Golam Mostafa Khan Miraj was the main discussant of the programme. In his speech, he shared his memories with bangabandhu.
He said, “We had protested at different districts through chanting slogan after death of Bangabandhu. We were prepared to sacrifice our life. At that time, we said that our blood is not more precious than Bangabandhu.”
Special guest Major (retd) Wakar Hasan, Bir Pratik PSC member of National Freedom Fighter Council said, “We all should be careful about the conspiracy. If we become aware, we would not loss our father of the nation.” Valiant freedom fighters and members of their progeny were also present in the programme.
