Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, listed in the capital market of Bangladesh under the engineering sector, has been honoured with ‘ICSB Corporate Governance Excellence Award-2021.’
The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) awarded the country’s leading electronics company for its outstanding corporate governance practices, along with its transparency and accountability in overall management.
Walton was awarded gold trophy under the engineering category at the programme of ‘9th ICSB National Award-2021’, at a five-star hotel in the capital on December 17.
ICSB presented gold, silver and bronze trophies of the award to the winning companies, listed in Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange, mainly judged in terms of how perfectly they promoted corporate governance, transparency and accountability in overall management of their team during the year 2021 and ensuring compliance of Corporate Governance Code of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission.
Apart from Walton, 36 companies received the ‘9th ICSB National Award-2021’ under 12 different categories.
Salman F Rahman, Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister, attended the program as the chief guest and handed over the awards. Planning Minister MA Mannan, Senior Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh and Bangladesh Cricket Board’s President Nazmul Hassan Papon were special guests at the program presided over by ICSB President Mohammad Asad Ullah.
