Walkathon to promoto healthy lifestyle held in Chattogram

With the slogan "Your health, Our priority", Apollo Imperial Hospitals organized a "Walkathon" to raise awareness on preventing Non-Communicable Diseases in Bangladesh. The walk started from Probartak circle, and the event culminated at Apollo Imperial Hospitals at Pahartali.

Krishna Pada Roy, Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, inaugurated the walkathon at Probortok. During his address, he expressed confidence that Apollo Imperial Hospitals would meet the healthcare demands of the people of Chattogram. Speaking at the event,  Nafid Nabi, Managing Director of Imperial Hospital, wished the hospital team the best and expressed that Apollo Imperial Hospitals would provide world-class care for the citizens of Bangladesh. Dr Q M Ohidul Alam was present at the inaugural event. 

Professor Dr Rabiul Husain, Founder of the hospital, addressed the guests who arrived at the main building of Apollo Imperial Hospitals, he said that "It is better for everyone and the country to take preventive measures to prevent disease than to treat it after it occurs. 

The newly appointed chief executive officer Dr Ananth N Rao, of Apollo Imperial Hospitals, presented a welcome speech at the event. He said that 70% of non-communicable diseases are preventable if monitored and shared that regular health checkups could help detect them early, and it is essential to take necessary lifestyle modifications or treatment. Apollo Hospitals, India, has been spearheading the message of Preventive Health for over three decades and shall continue to spread such awareness in the society. He also said Apollo Imperial Hospitals had started preventive health care programs for people of all age groups. It will also launch state-of-the-art health services with the combination of artificial intelligence and software to constantly monitor your health and receive regular health advice from the comfort of your home. Over 200 people participated in the walk.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner Krishna Pada Roy said in the chief guest's speech at the event that we are hopeful that Imperial Hospital is working jointly with Apollo Hospitals, a renowned medical service institution of India, to provide better medical services in Chittagong. He appreciated this initiative of increasing health awareness through this walkathon today. He also said that through a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise and walking, it is possible to improve physical capacity and prevent various diseases.

The walkathon started from Probartak circle, then moved to GEC circle, Khulshi, Wireless circle and ended at Apollo Imperial Hospitals.
