Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Campaign begins in Ishwardi on Oct 14

The National Vitamin 'A' Plus Campaign-2020 will start on October 4 in Ishwardi, Pabna. It will continue till October 17. On this occasion, a meeting was held at noon on Tuesday to inform the upazila and take action plan.

The meeting was organized by Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex under the auspices of the Department of Public Health Nutrition and National Nutrition Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr FA Asma Khan presided over the function. 

Upazila Acting Chairman Abdus Salam Khan spoke as the chief guest. Dr. Abdul Baten, Upazila Medical Officer and Mother and Child, Upazila Social Service Officer Khandaker Masud Rana, Upazila Sanitary Inspector Sanwar Rahman Khokon and others also spoke.

According to the Upazila Health Complex, the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign will be implemented from 168 centres and Upazila Health Complex. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr FA Asma Khan said the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign was scheduled to be held in Ishwardi from October 26 to 7, but the date was changed from October 4 to 17 for special reasons.

He said this year, 3,939 children aged 6 to 11 months and 28,063 children aged 12 to 59 months will be given vitamin A plus in upazilas, municipalities and seven unions.
