Narsingdi civil surgeon organised a press briefing at the conference room of his office on Thursday on the occasion of the National Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Campaign.
Civil surgeon Md Nurul Islam presided over the programme, said a press release. Medical officer Sanjay Kumar Saha presented the action plan of administering vitamin A capsules to children. Children aged 6-11 months would be given blue coloured vitamin ‘A’ capsules and children aged 12-59 months would be given red coloured vitamin ‘A’ capsules.
On June 18, a total of 40,178 children will be given blue capsules and 3,40,352 children will be given red capsules through 42 permanent centers and 2066 temporary centers in Narsingdi district.
Narsingdi Press Club president Habibur Rahman Habib, general secretary Md Humayun Kabir Shah, former president Nibaran Roy, journalist Manzil A Millat, Preeti Ranjan Saha, Sanjit Kumar Saha and others spoke in the meeting.
