More than half a hundred people, including police were reported injured in a bloody clash that took place between two groups in Sahebnagar village of Shyamgram union of Nabinagar upazila in Brahmanbaria on Wednesday morning.
Police arrested 12 people including a UP member in connection to the incident. Additional police were deployed at the spot to control the looting and the situation in the area.
It is learned that due to a previous dispute in Sahebnagar village Ripon Mia and Nannu Mia's men clashed carrying local weapons. More than 50 people, including from both sides, were injured in the bloody clash going on for about two hours.
Four people were seriously injured at the time and were sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital. The injured are Rabbani Mia (45), Kausar Mia (38), Kalu Mia (42), Hafiz Mia (46), Jahangir Mia (41), Awal Mia (40), Samdani (31), Shamim Mia (29), Obaidullah (33) and Enam Mia (50).
Nabinagar police station inspector Ruhul Amin leading a team of police went to the spot and detained 12 people involved in the clash including UP member Md. Atique.
Regarding the incident of fishing in a pond on last Tuesday night in Shahebnagar Bazar the clash started.
Nabinagar police inspector Ruhul Amin confirming the incident said, in this incident they have detained 12 people including a UP member.
When asked about any case filed in this regard, he said, no complaint was filed with Nabinagar police station yet.
