Opponents killed a man named Haji Samsuddin (50) with a local weapon over a land dispute under Katiadi upazila in Kishoreganj. The incident took place at Shimuha Nehardia village in Banagram union under Katiadi upazila on Saturday morning (24 October). The deceased was identified as Samsuddin, son of late Hafez Yunus Ali of the same village.
According to police and the local sources, there had been long-running land disputes with neighbors Bakkar, Awal, Nazrul, Idris, Jalal, Abdul Hai, Nur Mohammad and Asad. There was no solution even after the village arbitration.
On Saturday morning, Samsuddin's family was suddenly attacked. At one point in the attack, Samsuddin took refuge in a neighboring house to save him, but could not survive. Samsuddin was hit in the stomach by a local weapon and died on the spot. 10-15 members of the family were injured in the attack.
Katiadi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge M.A Jalil confirmed the incident and said a case was pending.
