Actress Popy has reigned over the hearts of Bangladeshi film lovers since she got into the industry. Recently she received the National Film Award from the Prime Minister. In the middle of last year, she had started to work in Arif directed ‘Kathgoray Sharatchandra’. Here she is playing the role of ‘Parboti’. But what is new about this stunning actress is that she along with model-actress Ratna has won the position of Executive Member in the recently held Bangladesh Film Club Limited election. Amit Hasan has been elected as president of the election through defeating Atiqur Rahman Liton.
Popy has participated in this election for the first time. She won a massive victory securing 325 votes. Popy was seen to be really excited after winning the election.
She shared, “This was the first time I participated in the election of Film Club. I am thrilled to have won this election right off the get-go. It feels really great to have the support of everyone. I want to thank everyone who stood by my side through this election.”
Along with Popy, Ratna has also won the election and that too with the highest number of votes. She is really exhilarated to have won the election for the second time.
Ratna Said, “I have won the election of Film Club for the second time. I have won every election I participated in. It is truly remarkable that so many people love me. If I hadn’t participated in the election then I wouldn’t have understood the love people have for me. I am truly grateful for my supporters. I will try my best to perform my role as an executive member to the fullest.”
BFDC Film Club elections were held on Monday from 2pm to 6pm. 19 candidates took part in the election for the post of one president and 10 executive members. The total number of voters in the elections were 511. Out of which 394 votes cast their votes while 16 were disqualified. Film Producer Mehedi Hassan Siddiqui Monir was the Chief Election Commissioner in the election of the Film Club.
