Family members of Dr Hafizur Rahman (deceased), Health Officer of Nandina Health Sub-centre in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila, received financial assistance. Dr Hafiz died in road accident recently.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Uttam Kumar Sarkar handed over a cheque for Tk 5 lakh to father and mother of the deceased.
Journalist and human rights activist Jahangir Salim, Dr Hafiz's father Dulal Fakir and mother Hajera Begum were present at the cheque handover ceremony.
Dr Hafizur Rahman, a brilliant son of a poor family, was killed in a road accident on October 8 on his way from home to work.
The killer truck broke the dreams of the family and ended the life of just 10 months of service, leaving the father, mother, wife and children helpless.
