Bangladesh spin consultant Daniel  Vettori left Dhaka on Monday and is expected to return ahead of the game between Asia XI and World XI, slated on March 21 and 22.

BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said that the New Zealander is leaving as per their contract as they want to utilize the 100 day contract trying to get the most of him. Vettori is returning to his country between the series according to the agreement, the way we have been scheduled with him, he is going accordingly,’’ said Nizamuddin.

‘’We agreed with him according to per day payment. There were no pre-series or post series issues. He’ll work as he was been contracted. If we add extra days to the series, it's in line with his contract. '

Vettori's daily salary, including income tax, is about $ 3,000 (about Tk 2 crore 54 lac per year) in a 100 day contract with BCB.

BCB has to use this coach accordingly. Whatever the case, one of the coach leaving country in between a series is rarely seen in Bangladesh cricket. Vettori had worked full time in India last November and BCB does not feel that it necessary to use such a costly coach against a relatively weak team like Zimbabwe.

‘’As per the agreement with him we decide how long he will work in this series. For this he worked with the spinners as much as he wants and he now he is leaving,’’ said Nizamuddin.

‘’We feel like he doesn't have to be in the whole series. Unused days here will be used later in the off-season,’’ he said. ‘’Vettori is expected to return to Bangladesh in the third week of this month before the Asia XI-World XI match,’’ he added.
