A new Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) has been inaugurated at Campus-1 of Khulna Agricultural University (KAU) in Madhyapara, Daulatpur.
KAU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Nazmul Ahsan officially inaugurated the hospital on Sunday.
The hospital has been set up to provide hands-on training for veterinary students and quality treatment services for farmers and livestock owners, especially from rural and marginalized communities.
It will remain open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, except on Fridays, Saturdays, and public holidays.
The VTH includes specialized units for Medicine, Surgery, and Gynecology, along with an Operating Theater and Diagnostic Laboratory.
The hospital will offer diagnosis and treatment for various animals and birds, including cows, goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, dogs, and cats. Experienced veterinarians will oversee the treatment services.
Teachers, students, and staff from different departments were present at the inauguration ceremony. A seminar was also organized, which included sharing of field experiences and distribution of internship certificates.
In his keynote speech, Prof. Ahsan emphasized the hospital’s dual purpose: to create skilled veterinary graduates through real-life clinical exposure and to meet the growing veterinary healthcare needs of the people in Khulna and nearby regions.
