Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, exhibited the ventilator invented by RUET students and teachers to a team of Rajshahi Medical College to ensure whether the ventilator is effectively operational in the treatment of Covid-19 patients.
Fazley Hossain Badsha on Monday went to RUET campus with the medical team consisting Vice-Principal of RMC and Head of the department of Microbiology Professor Dr. Bulbul Hasan, Head of the Department of Anesthesia Jamil Raihan and Head of the department of Dentistry Ismael Hossain and showed them the ventilator invented by RUET team.
After watching the ventilator, the RMC team members said, after a minor alteration, the ventilator may be used for treatment. RUET team assured to proposed alteration within a short time.
Among others, RUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Rafiqul Islam Sheikh, Registrar( in charge) Dr. Selim Selim Hossain, Director( Plan. & Dev.) Professor Dr. Mia Zaglul Sadat, Director( Research and exp.) Prof. Dr. Faruk Hossain, Director( Student Welfare) Prof. Dr. Rabiul Awal. DD Mamun ur Rashid, CMPO Dr. Moksed Ali and General Secretary of Officers' Union of RUET Mufti Mahmud Rony were present.
It is learnt, under the supervision of Prof Dr. Masud Rana of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a team of students of RUET invented the ventilator after two month's of effort. The ventilator named as Durbar Kandari Emvergency Ventilator costs only Taka 30,000 to make.
