The Multipurpose Padma Bridge will be opened for traffic movement by June. The overall work progress of the main bridge is 98 percent till now.
Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said this while addressing a meeting to review the progress of construction work of Padma Bridge project in the conference room of the bridge department on Sunday.
He said, “The progress of the main construction of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge project is 97 percent, river training work is 90.50 percent and the overall progress of the project is 92 percent. The progress of carpeting work of the main bridge is 65.68 percent.”
“Besides, the progress of installing gas pipeline is 99 percent and the progress of constructing 400 KVA power line is 79 percent,” he said.
Chaired by Bridge Division Secretary Md Monjur Hossain, the meeting was attended, among others, by Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam and project director Md Shafiqul Islam.
