Vehicular movement becomes stopped due to the bridge caved in a little towards the Matamohuri River in Chattagram. Hundreds of cars were stuck on both sides of the road.
Sayedul Islam, SI of Chiraganga highway police outpost confirmed the matter. He said that a large part of the middle of the Matamuhhari Bridge adjacent to Chakaria municipality of Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway abruptly caved in to the river at 12pm.
He said that immediately after the incident, the road and Highway Department has been informed. The repair work of the bridge is going on.
