VC urges RUET students to become worthy citizens

Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) Professor Rafiqul Islam Sheikh, on Thursday, urged students to become worthy citizens after acquiring knowledge properly. “You have to be skilled to serve the nation,” he said while addressing the orientation programme of the newly admitted students in the 2019-2020 academic session, held at RUET auditorium, as the chief guest.

A total of 1,235 students got admitted in 14 departments under four faculties of the university this year. Dean of Civil Engineering Faculty Professor Kamruzzaman Sarker, Mechanical Engineering Faculty Dean Professor Mosharraf Hossain, Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty Professor Jahurul Islam Sarker and Applied Science and Humanities Faculty Dean Prof Bellal Hossain also spoke while Students Welfare Director Prof Rabiul Awal was in the chair.

RUET VC said the main motto of the students should be learning knowledge on their respective fields properly so that they can build themselves as nation-building force. Professor Rafique also urged his colleagues for imparting ethical education among students for developing a sense of moral values in them.
