VAT revenue collection rises to Tk 188 cr in first 6 months of FY 2021-22

The Chattogram Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate has collected more revenue of Tk 188.78 crore in the first six months of the 2021-22 financial year.  The revenue of this important financial institution of the government has increased 1.27 times as compared to the last financial year.

 According to the Chattogram Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate, revenue of Tk 698.65 crore has been collected in the first six months of the fiscal year 2020-21.  On the other hand, revenue collection in the same period of 2021-22 fiscal year was 887 crore 43 lakh taka.  In the first six months of the current financial year, it has achieved a growth of 14.05 percent.  Tax Growth Revenue growth in December was 27 percent.

 Akbar Hossain, Commissioner of Chattogram Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate, said that all the 8 divisions and 24 circles in 5 districts included in the Commissionerate have worked 

diligently.  

Officers-employees have con­tributed to increase the revenue through their own qualifications, talent, thinking and initiative.  I hope this trend of success will continue through the sincere efforts of all.

 Meanwhile, crests and certificates were handed over to the selected Officers of the Month (Best Divisional Officer, Best Circle Officer, Best Sector Officer) on the basis of performance in different categories for contributing to increase revenue through collection.  Deputy Commissioner of Customs, Excise and VAT Chandgaon Division Anurupa Deb, Revenue Officers (Kotwali Circle) of Agrabad Division Md. Abul Khair and Md. Abul Khair have been selected as the best divisional officers.
