A private university student was killed while another student was injured in a road accident in Kajla area of Jatrabari in the capital Dhaka on Thursday.
The deceased was Omar FarukPalak, 24, son of MominulHaquehailing from Jinjira area in Keraniganj. The injured was identified as Jewel Rana, 23.
Both of them were students of Mugda Islamic University.
According to the eyewitnesses the accident took place at about 9:30am as a bus of Asian City hit the motorcycle carrying the victims near KajlaBhanga Bridge while they were going to Mugda Islamic University, leaving the duo in a critical condition.
They were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Omar Faruk dead at about 10:15am.
According to DMCH police outpost in-charge Bachchu Miah, the body was kept at the hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations.
