Valuable logs stolen from Moheshspur upazila health complex

A number of local people had allegedly taken away a number of valuable wooden logs from Moheshpur upoazila health complex compound on Friday last. The logs were stacked at the health complex when they were razed to the ground by the storm Amphan long ago. However the upazila health and family planning officer (UHFPO) Dr. Mahmud Bin Hedayet on Wednesday said he was not informed about theft of the tree logs anyway.  The locals have been suspecting that the logs were sold by the said UHFPO by his ambulance driver and another associate to the timber traders .and his office. Some locals said ambulance driver of the health complex Faruq Hossain, also nephew of ex BNP lawmaker Shahidul Islam Master, a resident near the healt h complex Oliar Rahman, rickshaw van puller Nur Islam and Manik had locals loaded the wooden logs on rickshaw vans and taken way outside the complex on Friday. Oliar Rahman, residing near the UHC when contacted said they had loaded the logs as per the instruction of ambulance driver Faruq Hossain, while they did not inform detail about selling the same. Faruq Hossain was not available over his cell phone after repeated attempts. 

When contacted UHFPO Dr Mahmud Bin Hedayet said not informed at all about theft of the tree logs from his office compound.

Officer in charge of Moheshpur police station said he was informed about theft of some valuable tree logs from the health complex on Friday. But no one had informed him in written. 

Law maker of Jhenaidah 3 constituency Advocate Shafiqul Azam Khan Chanchal when contacted said the thieves who ever they might be, could not be spared from the charge of theft anyway. Legal procedures should be taken against them lawmaker said.
