The US Embassy in Dhaka is arranging the fourth special chartered flight for its citizens and their families to return their homes from Bangladesh.
The flight will leave from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The returnees will have to pay the cost.

“The flight is not yet authorized or confirmed, but we are targeting Tuesday, April 21 as the departure date, and an arrival the following day at Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C metro area,” said the US Embassy in Dhaka on Saturday.

Earlier on Monday, the US Embassy in Dhaka helped several hundred American citizens and family members return to the US as part of its response to the global challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic.

That was the third repatriation flight after the flights on March 30 and April 5.
“We urge U.S. citizens who wish to return to the United States take advantage of this opportunity or be prepared to remain in Bangladesh until commercial flights resume,” the embassy said about the upcoming flight.

“Keep your phone nearby and check your e-mail regularly in case the Embassy needs to contact you.”
All passengers will need to reimburse the US government for the cost of the flight.

A legal document, called a promissory note, for the full cost of the flight must be signed by each adult passenger before boarding.
The cost will be approximately $1,820 per adult ticket. No cash or credit card payments will be accepted at the airport.

The US Embassy, however, remains open and committed to working with the government of Bangladesh and the Bangladeshi friends and partners to respond to the COVID-19 crisis, said the Embassy.
