Police on Wednesday night arrested the Member of Deopara union under Godagari upazila Emaj Uddin and his son Sihab Uddin on the allegation of assaulting four teachers including the Headmaster and a student of Baghail High School by entering into the chamber of Headmaster of the school on 21 November.
Kamrul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Godagari police station informed, on the allegation of attacking and assaulting Headmaster, three teachers and a student, Headmaster Altaf Hossain filed a case accusing the Member and his son.
Afterwards, police arrested Deopara UP Member Emaj Uddin and his son Sihab Uddin from their houses and they were sent to the jail through court on Thursday noon.
It is learnt, demanding to exclude the incumbent President of the Governing Body of Baghail School and to include him in the post, newly elected UP member Emaj Uddin and his son Sihab Uddin on 21 November entered into the chamber of the Headmaster of the school and assaulted him, three teachers and a student there.
They also allegedly ransacked the Bangabandhu Corner of the school. The news of attacking the teachers and a student was published in newspapers and a video of this in social media created anger among teachers, staff of the school and the local people.
Headmaster Altaf Hossain demanded exemplary punishment of the attackers and said, if they are released unpunished, the teachers will become further insecure and will continually be harassed.
